founded in the early 20th century by George McKendrick who was joined by his nephew
Dr G Gladstone Robertson, the famous 'Gorbals Doctor', in 1923. The Practice Area The practice covers the G5, G40, G41, G42, G43, G44, G45, G46, G73 and G76 postal code areas. Extended Hours of Consultation We now offer extended hours of consultation. These appointments will be offered at the Gorbals Health Centre but appointments will be available to patients who normally attend the Croftfoot Surgery. Appointments must be booked in advance by ‘phoning the surgery. This is not an emergency service and any situations arising after 1800 and before 0800 requiring medical advice or attention should be dealt be in the normal way of contacting the Out of hours service 08454 24 24 24. Unbooked patients presenting at the Health Centre will not be seen. Please note note that this service only offers Doctors consultations. There will be not nursing staff available, no chaperones, no blood test and no x-rays. Please ‘phone the reception desk (Croftfoot 0141 531 8600) (Gorbals 0141 531 8260) for more details. PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA PROTECTIONWe ask you for personal information so that you can receive care and treatment. This information is recorded on computer and the practice is registered under the Data Protection Act. The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team. PRACTICE POLICY ON VIOLENCE IN THE WORKPLACEDefinition of ViolenceIncidents where persons are abused, threatened or assaulted in circumstances related to their work, involving explicit or implicit challenge to their safety, wellbeing or health. Policy Statement"It is the position of the Greater Glasgow Primary Care Services NHS Trust, that violence is unacceptable in whatever form it takes, or for whatever reason. The Trust regards violence and aggression towards any member of staff, from whatever source, as a matter of priority and aims to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable that all staff are not adversely effected by threats or by actual incidents of violence or aggression. The Trust will work closely with staff, staff-side organisations and the police to ensure that those who commit violent acts are appropriately dealt with. FREEDOM OF INFORMATION – PUBLICATION SCHEMEThe Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available. This scheme is available from reception.
